TRAINING:

Compassionate Support Through Loss:

For Doulas

Loss is unexpected. As a doula, you will, at some point, support a client through miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), or infant loss. Being prepared can make all the difference.

We believe every family deserves skilled, compassionate support during pregnancy and infant loss. This foundational bereavement training equips doulas with the knowledge, confidence, and emotional resilience needed to hold space for grieving families.

What You’ll Learn

This trauma-informed, culturally responsive training provides essential skills to:

  • Understand the spectrum of pregnancy and infant loss

  • Offer emotional and physical support with confidence

  • Communicate with grieving families

  • Navigate hospital and home settings

  • Incorporate rituals, remembrance, and legacy-building

  • Prioritize self-care and prevent burnout

Designed for birth and postpartum doulas, as well as perinatal professionals, this training will deepen your ability to support families through loss. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and resources to integrate bereavement support into their skills list. We are currently in the process of securing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Traditional Health Worker (THW) program, stay tuned!

Pregnancy and infant loss can be one of the most isolating experiences a family faces. With the right training, you can provide the steady, compassionate presence they deserve.
